We are now looking for an engaged and structured archivist for our municipal administration. Here, you will play a key role in ensuring that the municipality's information is handled, preserved, and made accessible in a professional manner.
Description
The Administration Unit is part of the Support and Service Department. This department brings together the administration office, HR department, Rescue Services, and units for Finance, IT, Communications, Catering, and Cleaning.
The core activities of the Administration Unit are committee administration, document management, archives, and reception.
The unit acts as a hub for decision-makers. Work is primarily conducted through meeting services, support for and within the municipality's central decision-making functions, ensuring that public documents are accessible and searchable, and that citizens receive good treatment when interacting with the municipality.
Job Description
As an archivist here, you work both strategically and operationally with the municipality's archive and information management. You provide support to various departments regarding document management, archiving, and issues related to public access and confidentiality.
The position is located within the municipal administration, where you collaborate with managers, administrators, and other functions across the entire municipality.
Key responsibilities include:
- being responsible for the municipality's archive matters and developing archive operations
- providing support and guidance to departments regarding document management and information governance
- creating, following up on, and revising document retention schedules
- working with destruction, preservation, and organization of archive materials
- developing and quality-assuring procedures within information management
- being responsible for and contributing to digitalization and electronic archiving together with the administration's document controller
- handling issues related to public access, public documents, and archive legislation
- collaborating with internal and external stakeholders
Qualifications
We are looking for someone who has:
- a university degree in archival and information science or other education deemed equivalent by the employer
- knowledge of relevant legislation such as the Archive Act, the Public Access to Information and Secrecy Act, the Administrative Procedure Act, and the GDPR
- strong digital competence and preferably experience with digital information management
- good ability to express yourself in speech and writing in Swedish
It is an advantage if you have:
- experience working as an archivist in the public sector or municipality
- experience with electronic archives and digital document management
- experience with case management systems and document control
